Cruise to Rosedale Home in New Germany

It’s late Tuesday evening, June 19th, 2012.  I just got home from spending a great evening out with the Coastal Cruisers Car Club as we visited the Rosedale Home for Special Care in New Germany.

We was invited to come for a visit and of course bring along all our old vehicles.  I stood back and watched all the smiles and head nods from the residents as the old fords, chryslers, buicks, pontiacs, chevys rolled in and parked. Within minutes the parking lot was filled as everyone came out to have a good look at the vehicles.  I believe we had over 25 cars there.  Every shade of the rainbow, lots of polished chrome, white walled tires, convertibles and a few pairs of fuzzy dice could be seen.

My favourite was a motorized wheel chair that belonged to one of the residents, she had it painted a dark royal blue and it even had a niffy horn.

Rosedale had bbq’d hamburgers and hotdogs for everyone and even ice cream cones to help raise funds for their recreation events.  I’m already marking my calendar for next year!  Thanks to everyone at Rosedale for a wonderful evening.

I will have some pictures soon to post.

Here’s contact information for Rosedale:
